Remember to take advantage of the resources available on campus. Some departments/offices provide services to help you with your studies; others will make your time at CSUSB more enjoyable and memorable; and others will help you prepare for your FUTURE CAREER!
What are some career planning activities to participate in before your graduate?
ON CAMPUS: Apply for scholarship opportunities; become a student club member; be a VITA program participant; attend career development workshops to enhance your marketability both on paper and in person to obtain a position in your major; learn how to go about obtaining letters of recommendation from your professors and other mentors.
OFF CAMPUS: Do internships with a business or organization starting your junior year; become a trade association student member (see below for more information about trade associations); be a student volunteer for opportunities within your community; apply for off-campus scholarship opportunities.

Career Development Center (CDC)
The Career Development Center is located in UH-329. Visit their office and web site to see about internship opportunities they also promote and other student services. You can visit their website to see samples of different resume types (i.e., chronological, functional, or combination), as well as sample letters of introduction. CBPA Student Organizations and Business Clubs
If possible, consider becoming a member of one or more student clubs or organizations, and include your membership(s) on your resume.
Grants are awarded to Hispanic-Serving Institutions to assist eligible Hispanic-serving institutions of higher education to expand their capacity to serve Hispanic and low-income students. Five-year development grants and one-year planning grants may be awarded. These internship opportunities may pay $1,000 stipend.
International Center (formerly Internat'l Student
Services)
The main mission of the IC is to assist
international students succeed academically and adjust socially
to the U.S. way of life. International students should check
with this office to learn the necessary requirements before
participating in an internship.

Student Leadership & Development
Leadership Academy Program is a great certificate program for ALL students, and FREE too! This program is usually held during Winter and Spring quarters of each academic year.

Workability IV
WorkAbility IV is a transition
program designed to create career options and opportunities
for students with disabilities who are also clients with the State Department of Rehabilitation and complete their Bachelors
and Masters degrees at California State University, San Bernardino.

What is a Trade Association? "Trade associations are organizations that create a means for businesses involved in a given industry to interact to the mutual benefit of all concerned.
